About
Shane González
Juan “El Indio”
In the heart of Málaga, Spain, Shane González—known locally as Juan “El Indio”—has been quietly redefining the boundaries of flamenco. A guitarist, composer, and producer, González blends the fiery soul of traditional flamenco with the pulse of modern sounds, from hip hop and drill to electronic rhythms and jazz improvisation. His music is both a homage to tradition and a fearless experiment in reinvention, a dialogue between past and present.
González’s journey is rooted in Málaga’s vibrant cultural scene. In 2001, he founded the city’s first Flamenco Art Theater Center, a hub for creativity and performance that nurtured local talent until 2019. As a solo artist, he continues to captivate audiences with intimate performances, such as his ongoing series “Mi Guitarra”, where the raw emotion of flamenco guitar speaks directly to the listener.
